Origin IP Lookup is a Chrome extension that helps you discover the true origin server behind websites protected by CDN or proxy services like Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, or AWS CloudFront. Click the extension icon on any website and get a comprehensive infrastructure report in seconds.
What It Reveals
- Resolved IP addresses via dual DNS resolution (Google DNS + Cloudflare DNS)
- CDN/proxy detection with 40+ known IP ranges and 12+ ASN identifiers
- IP intelligence — geolocation, hosting provider, ASN, and organisation
- Subdomain probes that may bypass CDN and expose the origin server
- Certificate transparency log analysis for related hostnames
- MX records and TXT/SPF record analysis
Services Used
This extension queries the following public services to build its reports. No API keys are required and no personal data is sent — only the domain name of the website you are currently visiting.
- Google Public DNS (dns.google) — DNS resolution
- Cloudflare DNS (cloudflare-dns.com) — Cross-validation
- crt.sh — Certificate transparency logs
- ipinfo.io — IP geolocation and ASN data
